The State of Media Freedom and Safety of Journalists in Africa

The first Press Freedom and Safety of Journalists Report done by Africans for Africa supported by UNESCO has been launched yesterday at the the regional 2022 IDEI conference at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

The report addresses in 8 categories the main Issues of media freedom and safety of journalists from the legal and regulatory framework to surveillance and privacy of online communication in the Continent. It has also included key recommendations to various stakeholders including government, media organizations, media support organizations, academia and the UN and AU.
