Ethiopian National Media Support (ENMS) in collaboration with Protecting Independent Media for Effective Development (PRIMED-IMS) organized a one-day dialogue on “Dialogue among Key Media Stakeholders on the Role of Media in Peace Building in Ethiopia” on the 6th of October 2022, Addis Ababa, Azzeman Hotel.

The general objective of the dialogue was to initiate a national dialogue on the role of media and key stakeholders in peace building in Ethiopia. The program commenced with an opening remark and a keynote speech made by a representative from the PRIMED-IMS (Rashweat Mukundu, Sub-Sharan Africa IMS advisor) and Endashaw W/Michael (Ph.D.), General Manager of the Association of Ethiopian Broadcasters (AEB), respectively. The dialogue also initiated discussions about media, peace, and journalism based on the rapid assessment reports, which may spark further discussion and collaboration among stakeholders in peace building in the country.

The event targeted to bring together 60 participants across the country (21 from regional administrations and 39 from Addis Ababa) from diverse groups of government offices, journalists’ associations, community radio stations, networks, academia, media development organizations, Embassies, and Think-Tank groups in Ethiopia.
