A study book on the Assessment of Media Development in Ethiopia released

UNESCO has released a study report entitled “Assessment of Media Development in Ethiopia” that discusses the development of media and media freedom in Ethiopia. The research was carried out using UNESCO’s Media Development Indicators. The report discusses the impact of media regulations, associations, networks, training institutes, ownership structure, technologies, and other factors on press freedom, diversity, and plurality.

According to the study, the Ethiopian media, both offline and online, requires strong support and collaboration from the state, local and international organizations, journalism associations, educational institutes, and other players in its current state. The study was conducted by a team of researchers from Addis Ababa University.
